I have to say, I did feel a little sympathetic towards jade yesterday. Its a terribe label she now has to try and detach herself from, but she just might do it, if she takes it on the chin now and keeps moving forward. The girl has serious anger management issues to deal with (she's not alone there), but its interesting to see how many people have been obviously waiting in the sidelines, just itching to shoot her down.

The weather is atrocious, grey wet and windy, and I do not need to get out that bad, so I'm gonna cocoon myself up this weekend, and catch up with some long neglected reading and other odd ends. I was looking at the possibility of going on a wheechair accessible inclusive cruise, but the costs for a carer, and paying for all their cruise costs, make it much less appealing. No wonder a lot of the disabled people, no matter how young they are, are just stuck at home, day in day out, watching the world go by.

The first question you should ask yourself when you see someone in a wheelchair is "why are they in the wheelchair". We are all lumped into the same category, but my experience (and needs)is vey different to someone who is in a chair due to paralysis, or old age, obesity, arthritus or whatever.

I must recommend "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins.Although I do not look on religion and spirituality with the clinical eyes of a scientist (or biologist), a lot of what he writes about is so true. The idea and notion of god, really is (and always has been) one of the great default arguments. We can't explain this or that, so it must have been designed by a god. I thought it was very interesting when he devotes time to the evolution of religion. Mormonism was developed by Joseph Smith,, with its very own made "holy book". It started off on the fringes, but now its an accepted "religion". I hate the word religion, it gives an air of untouchable respectability, and uncalled for reverance. A religion is simply a cult which has been around for generations, and which has mainstream following. We see the scientology cult, founded by the science fiction writer Ron L Hubbard, emerging now and trying to gain more of a foothold. We can snigger at them, and say they are only for impressionable hollywood celebrities, but maybe in the near future, this will be the dominant ideology, to which we are all expected to adhere.
