Not a fan of this time of year, with the cold, short dark days, and having a body that goes into hibernation mode all too easily. Felt bad about not giving to a guy collecting for the homeless the other day, but ever since I watched a programme about street collectors being paid €20 per hour I just don't trust street collectors, and even at this time of year, don't feel like being guilted into lining their pockets! On this subject, saw two guys in wheelchairs collecting for something or other complete with buckets in their laps. Talk about promoting negative stereotypes! What do passers by remember, the good cause they were collecting for, or two guys in chairs rattling buckets?
