Its been over a month now, but I wanted to share some pics of the latest life giving addition in my nursing home. Its great to be able to get out and about (driver permitting) It was given to us by the lion's club in kilcullen, and it was done with the best of intentions. There was never even any hint of "charity", that word which I hate so intensely. Its people extending help to others, and requiring no big gushing adulation in return. Its great not to have to worry about falling during a transfer, as it has an electric hoist. As our "summer" is so crap, and our assistant' driving time limited, there have been no big road trips yet, but I am dying to head west again, and see galway etc. Its also the small things, which make a huge impact, like being able to go into xtravision to get some dvd's to help get you through another long, damp, empty sunday. The blacked out windows are great, and they were specifically asked for, as (among other reasons) you feel like a monkey in a zoo, when everyone can see in, and we're going through the lengthy ritual of being strapped down/unclamped. So without further ado, here are some pictures of the van, and the people who made it all possible!
